Food Safety: A Priority Pledge

Food Safety is a priority at Foster-Caviness. Both before product enters our facility, and before it leaves our docks, we have established rigorous handling procedures, security plans, safety programs, and facility sanitation to insure against the risk of contamination. To insure the enforcement of these proceses and proceedures, we contract a third party, independent inspection service, the American Sanitation Institute (ASI), to frequently audit our sanitation systems and practices. The result is a safe, consistent product, enabling Foster-Caviness to consistently score a Superior Food Safety Rating.

In February 2016, Foster-Caviness Greensboro underwent its first SQF audit. We were proud to have passed the initial certification with a score of 94. Throughout the year of 2016, we enhanced our food safety program so that we may reach the highest bracket a SQF certificate holder can reach. Through our ongoing commitment to food safety, quality and customer satisfaction, Foster-Caviness is excited to share that we have successfully reached that bracket as of February 16th, 2017 with a high score of 96! As we prepare for our Charlotte location to be audited, our team is eager to shoot for the moon and land another high score.

SQF is recognized by retailers, foodservice providers and regulatory agencies around the world. It is the only Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized standard, which made our drive to go after this certification a no-brainer!
